Kevin McDonald

Kevin McDonald answers your questions

Do you think we can still beat Tottenham?

Bertie Bee, age 126, Turf Moor Beehive
I think we can beat them, it’s just a question of whether we can get the 3 goals and not concede, that’s going to be hard. But we just have to give it everything we can. The first half we played well and probably should have been two up if we had taken our chances. After that it was a bit of a shambles, but we do still have a chance to beat them.

Before you signed for Burnley, which other clubs were interested in you and did any of them tempt you at all?
Thomas Braithwaite, age 10, Stevenage
Celtic, and some other clubs in Scotland, but the others couldn’t really pay the money my old club wanted for me. There were a couple of teams in the Championship and Premiership, I would tell you but I’m not allowed to. I just wanted first team football really. At Celtic they have a first team squad of about 50 players so it was going to be hard to get in. I feel like a made the right move as everything seems to be going right just now.

What do you like best about Burnley Football Club?
Nicky Unwin, age 13, Nelson
I’d probably say the players. The players make it really good, there’s lots of banter and the manager has helped me out a lot. Obviously the fans have made me feel welcome, but it’s the players who’ve helped me to settle. You go to some clubs and people don’t speak to you and that, but here everyone is a really good guy.

Who is your best friend at the club?
Nicky Unwin, age 13, Nelson
Remco, Chris and Alex McDonald really, and obviously Jay.
