Robbie Blake answers your questions
How old were you when you decided you wanted to be a footballer and at what age were you when people thought you had the ability to make it as a pro footballer?
Brooklyn Cross, age 9, Clayton Le Moors
I was probably around 8 or 9 when I first wanted to be a pro. The first time someone else thought I had the ability? I would have been about 14 when a Darlington youth scout said he wanted to take me down to their school of excellence. It went from there really.
If you won a lot of money and had to give it to a charity, which one would you give it to and why?
Andrew Scott, 6, from Littleborough
Breast Cancer I think. A few friends of mine have passed away from that
Thomas Hampson, 11, Preston
How do you feel about your 2 fantastic free kicks in 1 week?
Ewan Macadam, 10, Burnley
Obviously to play in the semi-final and to perform well was great and to score the free kicks was fantastic. It was a great week for me. But then it was a sour note not getting through. That was a disappointment.
What's your favorite free kick you have scored?
Michael Richardson,15
My favourite free kick would have to be the Preston one at Turf Moor. I can’t remember what year it was but we won two nil and I scored both goals. The free kick was right on the stroke of half time and I absolutely pinged it into the far corner from a long way out.
How often do you practice taking free-kicks?
Brooklyn Cross, age 9, Clayton Le Moors
Probably 3 times a week. I take a lot of free kicks each session, until I feel I’ve done enough.
Who do you think will be the player of the season this year?
Nicky Unwin, 13, Nelson
I’d say it would be a close one. I think Pato has had a good season so far but I’d have to go for Brian or Stevie Caldwell.
Which of the Burnley players would you go on holiday with, and where would you go?
Hannah Scott, 11, from Littleborough
I’m going to sit on the fence. There’s quite a few I’d go away with. In fact I think a few of us are going on holiday. It hasn’t been penciled in yet but it looks like we’re going to be in the same place at the same time so we’d obviously meet up. It’ll be a relaxing holiday after the season. A few of us have got children so it will be nice to get away as a couple and then come back and meet up for a few drinks with the team too.
Which has been your favourite team you have ever played for?
Harvey Macadam, 8, Burnley
In terms of camaraderie and team spirit I’d say this group of players now to be honest. Obviously with the Carling Cup run and we’ve done really well in the league, we’ve got a chance of being in the top 6 in the league, so hopefully we can have another cup run. I’d say this set of lads; it’s a good team to play for.
What do you eat before the game?
Andrew Scott, 6, from Littleborough
It varies between beans on toast, pasta with tomato sauce or even cereal. I’m a little bit superstitious so it depends on how I’ve done the week before. If I’ve scored the week before I’d have the same meal and if I have a bad game, after that I’d have a different meal.
